Tomorrow starts our young survivor’s overnight trek
The shelter building overnight was a success. Campers had a wild edible dinner. They are all working well together. Today was our “Mountain Day”. They did some climbing, rappelling, hiking, and a traverse across a decent drop. They supported each other and had fun while learning new things. Tonight brought a little rain, but it was awesome to see how well they scrambled together to set up an emergency tarp to salvage our cooking fire. Of course, as soon we we got our castle built, the rain stopped. It was a structure to be proud of.
With this, we have taught them what they need to know. Wednesday morning marks the start of our “Survival Overnight” They are ready and excited… I mean nervous. OK Lets stick with excited.
