Maine Trail Builders – Kayaking Away!
After re-doing a few water checks from their first two days, the group was ecstatic to get out on the water for a day of sea kayaking around the Porcupine Islands! Holding the starfish, crab hunting and watching the sea urchins and seeing the bald eagle’s nest were highlights for the day (as well as the beautiful sites, sailboats and all around great day on the water!).
Although they didn’t actually see too many fireworks tonight from the top of Cadillac Mountain, hanging out with the Frost Valley Maine Coast group was well worth the drive up the mountain! The highlight of the trip so far? Being able to look back and physically see all of the hard work and dedication each person put into the trail! Tomorrow’s the fourth of July and hopefully a better view of some fireworks.

He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
