Olympix is here!

For many of our campers and staff Olympix is the highlight of their year and it started today! For anyone who hasn’t heard of it before, Olympix is a 2 day all camp celebration that includes the Hird, Wawayanda, Mustang Village, and the Tokyo Partnership camp. All of the campers and staff are divided into 8 teams that are chosen based off of countries represented by our staff. The 8 countries this year are Canada, Jamaica, Uganda, Mexico, Colombia, Italy, Scotland, and India. Today was day 1 of Olympix. Everyone met their team coaches and cultural advisers this afternoon. They learned about the culture of the country they are representing as well as cheers and songs.

After dinner we began the Opening Ceremony. Everyone met at the Dining Hall. Each camper was given a team tshirt with custom designs created by our coaches in the Screen printing Studio. Each team came up to the front and performed the cheers and songs they learned earlier during the culture sharing.

Here are pictures from the day:

Let the games begin!

Tomorrow is a mix of field games, mental puzzles, and creativity so that all can get involved. Who will win the spirit prize? Tune in tomorrow to find out!
