Overnights and Adventures

The Fourth of July started our two nights of overnights for all of our campers! The Farm Leaders spent two nights out, one at Pine Grove and one at Merrill Pavilion, learning outdoor living skills, reflecting on their experience being a leader at the Farm, and spending time bonding together. Our boys enjoyed Pita Pizza’s and fourth of July fireworks at Merrill Pavilion for a Boys Only camp out, while the girls had a Girl Power Coffee House. The next night, the girls slept out under the stars at Merrill Pavilion while the boys enjoyed a cook out and game night!

Growing up in New Jersey, Dan Weir knew Frost Valley YMCA as the place his family loved. Now Dan has 21 summers working at Frost Valley YMCA under his belt. He has progressed from junior camp counselor to Director of Camping Services, overseeing Frost Valley’s overnight summer camp programs. Dan holds a Master’s Degree from Stony Brook University, specializing in youth development and technology affecting youth, and a Bachelor’s Degree from George Washington University in Psychology. Dan lives year round at camp with his family.
